Business Spotlight: Talavera Studio

Tells us your story!  When did you open Talavera Studio?

We are direct importers of hand-crafted Malibu & talavera tile, saltillo and pavers.  The tile is sold at wholesale and retail in our store along with a wide variety of Mexican pottery,  curiosities, decorations and gifts. We are currently promoting Halloween and Christmas decorations, as well as home & garden décor.

We have been in business for more than 15 years, previously with a store and warehouse in Whittier. In June, we opened our store in San Marino.  We sell to the public in our store, but also wholesale to other stores, interior designers, and construction contractors.

Where are your tiles, pots, and décor from?

The tile is handcrafted in Guanajuato, Mexico, and the pottery and décor comes from various states in Mexico such as Oaxaca, Guadalajara, and Michoacan.

How are you different from other tiling businesses?

We operate in a niche very different from other tile retailers because of our unique tile designs.  We carry a large selection of Malibu and talavera tiles designs, all in stock.  We also take special orders for specific projects such as murals, and pottery for special occasions like weddings, anniversaries, graduations, fundraisers, and more.

How can we shop at  Talavera Studio?

You can come directly to the store (2335 Huntington Drive) and make your tile and decoration selections.  For larger home remodels and projects, we can come to your home or business and bring sample boards to recommend the best designs for you.  We will be adding a digital catalog and a website soon.
