Business Spotlight: P.M. Jacoy Menswear

Every month, the City will be doing a spotlight on one of the City's amazing small businesses. This month's spotlight is P.M. Jacoy Menswear. Read below for an interview with owner Tony Jacoy to learn more about his business and how to support it!

Tells us your story! When did you open P.M. Jacoy Menswear?

While working as a Senior Buyer for Military Ordinances for Norris industries, I came upon an associate who introduced me to a retailer of menswear.  As I developed a friendship with the owner, now mentor, I quickly started to sell out of the back seat of my car. And by appointment in my home.  I also sold clothing while under the watchful eyes of Northrop’s security cameras while working on the Stealth Bomber program.

It was Oct. 1985, when I was approached by Thomas Sullivan, who told me I should make my move to be self-employed or regret it later in life.

Why did you choose to set up your business in San Marino?
Since my brother-in-law Dr. Gene Orlowsky, was already on Mission St., via, Mr. Sullivan,  I also was introduced to this area at a time when it was truly to “Off the Beaten Path”.

What types of services do you provide?
Menswear and tailoring for men and women
