Compensation & Benefits
  • $1,200 monthly allotment toward medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long term disability.
  • Police Officer Monthly Salary: $6,168 - $7,497.
  • Compressed work schedule – 3/12 for patrol and 4/10 for other special assignments.
  • Education incentive from $126.53 to $375.23 monthly.
  • Employees are eligible to enroll their children into the San Marino Unified School District while employed by the city even if their parents do not reside in San Marino.
  • Onsite fitness and workout facility for city employees.
  • Outside detail event pay - security and traffic safety at movie and television filming, social events, and the Huntington Library and Gardens at currently negotiated rates.
  • Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) 2% at 57 retirement formula (employee pays 7%).
  • Uniform allowance is $850 annually.
  • Vacation leave - employees are eligible for 178 hours of vacation accrual in their first year of employment; increasing to 360 hours dependent on years of service.
