Plan Check Submittals
 
If you are submitting for plan check, please submit two sets of plans and any applicable calculations.  For additions, the County Assessor's office requires the submittal of an additional site plan and floor plans.  If the project was approved by the Design Review Committee or Planning Commission, please copy the approval letter onto the plans.  Please fill out the plan check application to accompany your submittal.

2013 California Building Codes

Construction in San Marino is governed by the 2013 California Building Codes and related local amendments.  The 2013 Codes can be found by visiting the California Building Standards Commission Website.  Local amendments can be found in Chapter 25 of the 
San Marino City Code.

APPLYING FOR PERMITS

Permits are required for all electrical, mechanical, and plumbing projects.  Permits are also required for a variety of improvements projects, including but not limited to re-roofs, window changes, fences, pools and spas, remodels, and additions.  To apply for a permit, please visit our counter at City Hall during normal business hours. If in doubt, please call the Building Department at (626) 300-0712 to determine if your proposed project requires a permit.
