2019 California Building Codes
Construction in San Marino is governed by the 2019 California Building Codes and related local amendments. The 2019 Codes can be found by visiting the California Building Standards Commission Website. Local amendments can be found in Chapter 25 of the San Marino City Code.
APPLYING FOR PERMITS "Online"
Permits are required for all building, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing projects. Permits are also required for a variety of improvements projects, including but not limited to re-roofs, window changes, fences, pools and spas, remodels, and additions.
During this pandemic, applications for all permits will only be accepted via an "online application." To apply for a permit online, please contact the Building Division to register for CommunityConnect. Once registered, you will be notified via e-mail to complete the application process and create a password. After the registration process is complete, you will have the ability to apply for permits, upload your plans, pay fees and request inspections.
