Take A Slice of Orange County
Thursday, September 23, 2021
We begin the day with our guide, Curt Tucker, traveling South to Orange County with lunch at Ruby's Diner (see menu choices below), located at the site of the original Santa Fe depot. The 1938 era building has been transformed into a show-stopping venue - from a model train that travels cross-country through a diorama of America to an array of artwork that pays homage to Orange's historical past.
Next, we venture to the Hilbert Museum for a docent-guided tour. This is the nation's only institution dedicated to the display of California Scene painting and California representational art. The collection includes oils, watercolors, sketches, and lithographs of rural and urban life in the Golden State and features a who's who of 20th century California masters.
Lastly, we will have time to explore Old Town Orange and its many antique stores and gourmet shops, and/or visit the California's Gold Exhibit and Huell Howser Archives, housed in Chapman University. Join us for a fun Slice of Orange!

Santa Monica Food Walk and Beach Tour
Tuesday, October 12, 2021
Over the past few years, the Los Angeles beach art and food scene has undergone a renaissance fueled by an amazing cadre of artists and chefs - both local and international. Today our guide, Curt Tucker, will take us through a mix of historically significant architecture, highly regarded restaurants, and inspiring art galleries. We will make our first brief stop in Marina del Rey, the world's largest man made small craft harbor, then on to Venice where we will see one of the remaining Venice Canals and drive through eclectic Abbot Kinney Blvd. on our way to Santa Monica.
Our adventure continues as we feast our eyes on the sights of Santa Monica with a fantastic walking food tour. Savor mouthwatering food and snacks from local restaurants and bakeries and hear stories of Santa Monica's famous past. From fresh hand-stomped lemonade to a delicious bakery treat for dessert, and everything in between, your palate will be peppered with local favorites.
On our last stop we will enjoy some time to browse the wonderfully diverse galleries at Bergamot Station - Southern California's largest art gallery complex and cultural center.

Art of the City, L.A.
Tuesday, November 9, 2021
Join us for a guided tour of a broad array of contemporary and historical public artworks in the Civic Center, Historic Core, West Adams, the Figueroa corridor, and the booming arts district Los Angeles. Led by Curt Tucker, this tour promises to be one of a kind. You will learn the history and gain insight into the ever-changing art scene of Downtown L.A. Stops throughout the day will give you an opportunity to take photos and see the latest public art including statues and murals dedicated to L.A. sports figures, like Kobe Bryant and Mookie Betts.
Mid-day we will stop for lunch on your own at Grand Central Market. First opened in October of 1917 it was called the Wonder Market - "the largest and finest public market on the Pacific Coast." Today, the market is a microcosm of the historic immigrant communities that have shaped LA and a mosaic of the creativity and vision of the people who call this city home.
In the afternoon you will visit MOCA, the Museum of Contemporary Art. Established in 1979, MOCA is the only artist founded museum in LA. It also houses one of the most compelling collections of contemporary art in the world, comprising roughly 7,000 objects, and has a diverse history of ground-breaking, historically-significant exhibitions.
