The Planning Commission, consisting of five members appointed by the Mayor, serves as a tribunal for all requests for zoning variances and conditional use permits. The Commission is the first line of defense in protecting the physical character of the City. The Planning Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except December (dark).

Planning Commission members include:  Raymond Cheng (Chair), Jack MacLeod (Vice-Chair), Howard Brody, Marcos Velayos, Se-Yao Hsu and Bill Farley (Alternate).
